Las Vegas police have a lot of questions for Eric Holland. He is likely going to be charged with murder after allegedly being caught in a car with a bag with a head inside near the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino. In addition, there were coolers that contained two sets of human legs and a human body in the vehicle. Holland had stolen the vehicle and asserts that the extra equipment was already there when he grabbed it.
Las Vegas police had to chase Holland after he didn’t pull over for a routine traffic stop over a suspended registration. They found the severed head, legs, and torso in the back of the car once they finally cornered him.
In a press release, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) stated that on December 23, at around 3:45 in the afternoon, LVMPD officers attempted to stop the driver of a truck.
He wasn’t willing to play along and the officers chased the driver down Las Vegas streets. From above, an air unit was able to track the vehicle.
The air unit saw the man, later identified as Holland, dump the vehicle and get into a truck called “a gold Chevrolet Avalanche.”
The release states that officers tried to stop and arrest Holland but that he fled again. Officers were led to an apartment complex by the air unit.
The officers were able to corner Holland and arrest him. They began investigating the chain of events and uncovered the body parts. Through the investigation, the LVMPD identified Holland as the suspect for the homicide of the victim, later identified as Richard P. Miller.
Miller, of Las Vegas, died from multiple gunshot wounds. The police assert that they have overwhelming evidence that Holland is the author of the crimes. Miller and Holland knew each other, according to authorities. However, they didn’t provide any details about an alleged motive.
Holland was denied bail and is being held at the Clark County Detention Center until the saga is unraveled.
